Novotel Goes for Gold in Melbourne

Virgin Australia Voyeur - - HOTELS -

If you require any further evidence that Melbourne’s centre of gravity has shifted south of the Yarra River, then look no further than the just-opened Novotel Melbourne South Wharf. The 26-storey tower — part of a $350 million expansion of Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre — comprises a whopping 347 guestrooms and cuts quite a figure on the riverbank with its gold-panelled exterior. Hotel selling points include a 24-hour fitness centre, free wi-fi and a terrace bar with river and city views. AccorHotels says the hotel has been designed with business and conference travellers in mind, but its proximity to Southbank, the Crown Casino complex and the CBD is equally likely to appeal to leisure visitors, too. novotel.accorhotels.com.
