PUTTING THE CRAFT BACK INTO BREWING

Virgin Australia Voyeur - - VOYEUR - Visit Modus Operandi at 14 Harkeith St, Mona Vale, Sydney. And for more, check out www.mobrewing.com.au.

At Modus Operandi we are, after all, an independent brewer — what we do is a craft, no different than a cabinet-maker or a surfboard shaper, only with an end product that’ll go better with a burger.

Whether in the notes of passionfruit and mango that burst out of our Former Tenant Red IPA, or the balance of citrus, fruitiness and a pleasing bitterness that makes up our award-winning Modus Pale Ale, we’re determined to deliver the best.

Always cold and fresh, too. Traditionally, with international ownership and bottom lines in mind, cold storage, refrigerated transport and packaged-on dates had never been part of the brewing industry. But we put a date stamp on all our cans and kegs and keep them optimally chilled, so you know, whether you’re at our brewery in Sydney or in a pub, bar or lounge room around the country, what you’re drinking is as fresh and flavoursome as if you were having it flush from the tank. Freshness is the key with our beer.

For that we’ve been lucky enough to pick up a few awards. Most recently we were named the Champion Australian Independent Brewery, Large, at the Indie Awards in July, and as a result became the first brewery to win in the Small, Medium and Large categories, all in four years.

‘It was great to get the recognition for our hard work, particularly for the team and our philosophy,’ says Grant.

It’s been quite a journey from where we began, but our modus operandi has always stayed the same — Beer First. No Shortcuts.
