Working towards a more sustainable future, Virgin Australia is introducing a number of crucial initiatives across onboard services on international short-haul flights.

Biodegradable cutlery and wrappers are being introduced for meal service, as well as napkins made from bamboo fibres instead of wood, while salt and pepper twin packs are now lined with biodegradable materials.

The airline is also introducing new product packaging to make meals even more enticing, eliminating the use of silver foils. The initiatives are part of a broader effort by Virgin Australia to improve the environmental friendliness of operations.
