Vir­gin Aus­tralia is part­ner­ing with or­gan­i­sa­tions across the Tas­man to boost com­mu­nity projects.

Com­mu­ni­ties in New Zealand will ben­e­fit from new Vir­gin Aus­tralia part­ner­ships in the ar­eas of dis­ad­van­taged youth, en­vi­ron­men­tal con­ser­va­tion and men­tal health and well­be­ing. The air­line has teamed up with Eat My Lunch, which pro­vides vi­tal school lunches for the one in four chil­dren who live in food poverty in New Zealand. Vir­gin Aus­tralia will also be part­ner­ing with Con­ser­va­tion Vol­un­teers New Zealand (CVNZ), a na­tional or­gan­i­sa­tion that aims to en­cour­age peo­ple to care for the en­vi­ron­ment. The project’s ex­ten­sive con­ser­va­tion work pro­tects and im­proves high bio­di­ver­sity ar­eas, which are tra­di­tion­ally pop­u­lar ar­eas for tourists. Vir­gin Aus­tralia is also ex­tend­ing its men­tal health part­ner­ships in Aus­tralia to in­clude New Zealand, broad­en­ing the work of R U OK? and Black Dog In­sti­tute. Through an on­go­ing part­ner­ship with CARE Aus­tralia, Vir­gin Aus­tralia also sup­ports the wider Aus­tralia, New Zealand and Pa­cific re­gion dur­ing hu­man­i­tar­ian emer­gen­cies, fly­ing goods and aid work­ers to dev­as­tated ar­eas or com­mu­ni­ties in cri­sis.
