Beef Up

Virgin Australia Voyeur - - EXPERIENCE -

Virgin Australia is celebrating the quality of New Zealand’s meat offerings.

It's been a big year for New Zealand beef producers — though that might come as no surprise for a country known for yielding some of the world's best meat.

A nationwide search by Virgin Australia for a new beef supplier to service flights from New Zealand, named Got Beef, was met with massive interest from around the country, and saw Taihape-based Hinterland Foods named as the winner.

The competition helped shine a light on the efforts of local New Zealand farmers to supply high-quality meat products, and that was especially clear in Hinterland Foods' free range, grass-fed beef.

That beef can now be enjoyed in the onboard meals on Virgin Australia's flights from New Zealand, in both Economy and Business Classes.

"We are thrilled to be supporting local industry in New Zealand by showcasing some of the high-quality farming product the country is famous for," says Virgin Australia Group Executive Rob Sharp.
