“I have only missed one ARIA awards in 20 years,” says Iain Shedden, music writer for the Australian and the author of this issue’s 30 years of the ARIA Awards retrospective, on page 220. “I have many fond memories of the ARIAs, and just as many foggy ones from after-parties,” says Shedden. “As a musician I’m fortunate to have one of those pointy trophies, but that’s another story.”
