1) It’s a more formal dining situation rather than casual.

2) They invited a friend.

3) You’ve seen your date before and this time notice they have made an obvious effort with their appearance.

4) Your date is paying a lot of attention to their phone.

5) They are attentive to what’s going on. Drinks are ordered. They are careful about choosing where you sit and ask you what you would like.

6) They over-share details about their life, including the grisly and potentially unflattering details at a level beyond self-deprecating.

7) If your date runs into a friend while you’re out they are eager to introduce you.

8) At the end of the date they are vague about making plans with you for next time.
