CAMERON JAMES–WILSON

-

As the creator of Shudu, a virtual-reality model initially conceived as an art project and now applied as an avatar in this month’s story ‘Reality bytes’, Cameron James-Wilson says he drew inspiration for his construct from the beauty icons he admired during his childhood. “I was very much inspired by Iman, Grace Jones, Alek Wek and Naomi Campbell. Growing up, these incredible women were influential in how I would come to view beauty.” As for the future of virtual models, James-Wilson is sure we’ll see a lot more of them. “Virtual models have the potential to go in so many different directions. I think we are on the knife-edge of change and very soon this will be a point we look back on as a pivot in the industry.”
