SHARIF HAMZA

-

While photographing ‘Upstate’, Sharif Hamza was working against the elements, battling with rain most of the day to get the perfect shot. “We wanted to shoot during a warm and bright day, but it unfortunately rained all morning until 3pm, so we did the entire shoot from 3pm to 7pm,” he says. On his favourite aspect about the images from the day, Hamza says he’s proud of the variation of beauty represented. “It’s a celebration of Chinese beauty,” he says. “The girls have very different features and are very diverse from each other, which is something I don’t think is often acknowledged within Asian beauty.”
