Stella Artois at Paris Fashion Week

-

Stella Artois is on a mission to get the world to see its ever-popular Belgian beer in an entirely new light, and the cornerstone of its approach is with a series of Sensorium events – multi-sensory dining experiences aimed at introducing the ale as more of a gastronomic experience to drink. And so, to Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, where Stella Artois hosted its dynamic event at the city of light’s famed restaurant L’Acajour, run by world-renowned chef Jean Imbert. At L’Acajour, Imbert’s unconventional approach to fine dining has even seen him named by Vanity Fair as one of the most influential Frenchmen.

The menu was designed entirely to complement the beer, something that’s generally quite tricky to do with conventional lagers. Some of the dinner delicacies included tartare of sea bass, finger lime, caviar, smoked oyster cream, and Brittany lobster served with string beans, grapefruit, Parisian sprouts and glazed with Stella Artois caramel. Among the stylish guests who went along for the ride was our very own GQ Australia editor, Mike Christensen, who caught up with his former boss Nick Smith, Group CEO of Buro24/7, plus designer Lucy Folk, Katie Ingham and Jen Guberek, and Melbourne’s David Abela and his wife Rebecca Amos. After this extravaganza, whoever said beer was bland? Melissa Hoyer
