Brenna Harding
Harding has enjoyed a steady career on stage and TV (most notably in
Puberty Blues). But it was an appearance on a groundbreaking episode of Play School as an eight-year-old talking about her two mothers that made the most impact on her personally and professionally.
“Being in that episode that was talked about so much gave me an understanding of the power of storytelling to make social change. By telling my own story I learnt how that can impact the world, and that’s my main mission as an actor – to make sure I’m telling stories that make people feel seen, heard and understood, especially those in marginalised communities. Acting is a really strong exercise in empathy … it’s putting yourself in someone else’s shoes.”
