ALMOND MILK

While many tout the benefits of its effect on the gut, almond milk also does wonders for the complexion. While The Body Shop’s Mediterranean Almond Milk With Oats Instant Soothing Mask sounds like something you might pick up at a health food store, its vegan formulation (which oddly feels a bit like porridge) soothes sensitive skin, relieves dryness and oh-so-gently exfoliates while keeping flare-ups at bay.

RICE BRAN

Rich in vitamins B and E, and a mainstay of Japanese skincare, rice bran gently exfoliates and promotes cell turnover. Mild enough to use daily (which is why it’s the hero ingredient of Olay’s Micellar Water), its feather-weight texture cleanses and hydrates in one application.

AÇAI

It seems that every day another berry is dubbed a superfood, but the açai berry has managed to rise from fad to fixture. The deep-purple Brazilian fruit is loaded with antioxidants to counteract troublesome free-radical damage caused by daily exposure to the likes of UV rays and pollution.

Olay Luminous Micellar Water, $13; Youth to the People Maqui + Acai Prickly Pear Goji hydrating oil, $62.

The Body Shop Mediterranean Almond Milk With Oats Instant Soothing Mask, $35.
