“Chris Marker’s film La Jetée, made almost . entirely of still images, never leaves me. The haunting portrait of a post-apocalyptic world, of the blurred lines between memory and fiction, have had a big influence on my work.”

“Salvador Dalí’s surreal universe, the . fractured objects and molten lenses, endlessly drag me into reveries. Time and Space is a particular reference.”

“Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy is always . close to my heart; I found this amazing rare copy [of Inferno, the first part of Divine Comedy] in London a few Christmases ago. It was a present to myself, and I now use it in every photo shoot.”

and 5. “I’ve always been inspired by the . idea of the Australian outback: sleepy towns and desolate landscapes. These are photos from a road trip I took in 2015, chasing clouds.”

“Naples is a city that always captured my . heart; it has a magnetic energy. The crumbling architecture, the fritto misto wrapped in brown paper cones and the call of the port makes me feel llike anything could happen.”

“The Lion medallion is one of the first . pieces I made. In Inferno, Dante is confronted by a lion so terrifying that even the air around him is trembling. Terrified, Dante turns on his heels, until his guide Virgil appears and gives him strength. It’s the moment that fear turns to courage. I wear this medallion every day, to remind me to be courageous on my adventures.”

“One of my favourite people in the world is . Reed Morano, the director of The Handmaid’s Tale. I was lucky enough to meet her last year, and she’s become a bit of a mentor to me, for all things from photography to storytelling. She placed an Alighieri necklace on Charlotte Gainsbourg’s character in her latest film, I Think We’re Alone Now. This was a truly special moment for me.”
