SEEING IS BELIEVING

Inspired by NGV’s mind-bending Escher X Nendo | Between Two Worlds exhibition, Mimco has designed a range that’s worthy of a place in any statement accessory collection.

Optical illusion combines with contemporary design at the National Gallery of Victoria’s (NGV) Escher X Nendo | Between Two Worlds exhibition. In a celebration of this uniquely immersive experience, Mimco and David Jones are partnering with NGV, as Mimco releases a capsule accessory collection that embodies the iconic brands’ shared heritage of creativity, craft and design.

Building on Mimco’s collaboration with the 2017 NGV Triennial, theMimco X NGV collection comprises pieces inspired by Dutch artist M.C. Escher’s signature themes of geometry, space and perception, and the work of acclaimed Japanese design studio Nendo.

“Supporting the exhibition through the creation of this collection allows us to celebrate and honour the design-led heritage we share,” Mimco managing director Sarah Rovis says.

Nendo’s pared-back response to Escher’s intricate work has informed the Mimco X NGV collection, resulting in a range that shows a stunning juxtaposition of complexity and simplicity.

Escher X Nendo | Between Two Worlds is showing at the National Gallery of Victoria until April 7.
