EDITOR’S LETTER
We celebrate so many extraordinary women in this issue, along with the life of one very special man, the late photographer Bill Cunningham. But first to our cover this month with Lily-Rose Depp. Likeable, articulate and even more beautiful in the flesh, Depp reveals that far from taking a free ride on her famous lineage she feels the need to work twice as hard to prove her talents. Giampaolo Sgura photographed Depp in New York, capturing her ingenue look to perfection.
After seeing her wearing her friend Virgil Abloh’s men’s collection for Louis Vuitton at the recent ready-to-wear shows, we asked jeweller Gaia Repossi to play model for this issue, reinterpreting masculine tailoring in an extremely elegant and modern manner and showing how versatile Abloh’s designs are. The resulting images, styled by Christine Centenera and photographed by Bibi Cornejo Borthwick, make us rethink our wardrobes.
As one of the world’s most high profile Indian models, Dipti Sharma has been making fashion headlines. In this issue she collaborated with stylist Natasha Royt and photographer Jason Kibbler to celebrate her heritage and spirituality. She tells Vogue that being a model from India means not having enough representation internationally or being taken very seriously, something she is adamant needs to change.
We also celebrate the talents of Chloé designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi, whose passion for clothes and styling is reflected in the stunning portraits by Paolo Roversi.
The Missoni family invited Anders Christian Madsen to one of Rosita Missoni’s famous garden parties to discuss what is next for the brand and family, following a deal with private equity to fund expansion.
Chrissy Teigen discusses her Instagram profile, her kids, her husband John Legend, and that disagreement between him and friend Kanye West on social media. You’ll fall even more in love with her than ever.
And finally to that very special man, Bill Cunningham, whose life and pictures are being brought to life in a new documentary, The Times of Bill Cunningham. Suzy Menkes reflects on her old friend, the man who captured fashion’s Zeitgeist long before Instagram streams flowed. There is so much and so many to be inspired by in this issue. Enjoy.
