-

EDITOR, VOGUE LIVING Mum to Frankie, two years old.

1. “I’d never worn pyjama sets until I became a mother, and I now I like to invest in gorgeous sleepwear. My favourites are by Stella McCartney, and Net-A-Porter have a great edit.”

2. “I didn’t buy this for my daughter, but I will definitely buy it for my second child. I got the chance to interview Dr Harvey Karp last year and he talked me through this amazing bassinet. Not only is the design stunning, the technology is also incredible. It’s a sleep-responsive bassinet that helps with sleep using sound and motion rhythms that babies love.”

3. “I absolutely adore my friend’s brand Printebebe. She has cleverly designed the range using pretty patterns in subtle colours to help disguise messy food spills. The pieces are functional, easy and comfortable and also just look so cute! I hardly buy any other brands for Frankie now, because Printebebe ticks all my boxes.”

4. “I loved Nature Baby’s organic cotton, especially its Pointelle collection for newborns – Frankie lived in these. I also used the swaddles a lot. The fabrics are soft, all-organic and they have gorgeous prints as well.”

5. “Invest in a cosy armchair for breastfeeding and generally just lots of newborn snuggles. I love this traditional chair by Viggo Boesen from Cult Design.”

6. “Sydney artist and designer James Gordon [www.jamesgordon.com.au] illustrated my wedding invitations and since then I have asked him to do Frankie’s first birthday invitation and now he’s going to illustrate our playroom. I love his style – so whimsical, quirky and cool. He’s an amazing artist.”

7. “The Tot website was launched by two friends of mine and it’s brilliant! As a first-time mother there was so much information out there, but I never really knew who and what to trust. Every product on this site is tested by co-founder Nasiba on her own children and everything is non-toxic and chic.”

8. “I read about and followed Dr Harvey Karp’s [American paediatrician, child development expert and author; www.happiestbaby.com] approach for both newborns and toddlers. His advice was practical, nurturing and I found it works.”

9. “I was too sensitive and emotional to sleep-train Frankie and I couldn’t survive with her waking every 45 minutes during the first six months. So I finally sought help from Jane Surgenor [www. janesurgenor.com.au], and by the age of six months, Frankie slept through the night. Sleep training is not for everyone, but Jane’s approach is gentle and nurturing, and it worked for me.”
