Curators of an exhibition devoted to homegrown contemporary art share their insights into what’s new and noteworthy.
Biennial exhibition The National will this year see four curators from three Sydney art institutions come together to present new works from the most compelling artists working in Australia today. Held as a free joint exhibition across the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA), Carriageworks and the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), it features works from 70 artists, chosen to provide a fascinating insight into the ideas and issues driving them today, and the provocative ways in which they’re exploring them.
