As the woman at the helm of David Jones’s beauty offering, Rachel Duffy-Packer has a direct line to the latest and most innovative skincare and make-up.

1. “I won’t leave the house without La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream and Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser – if there’s anything I’ve learnt working in beauty it’s that sunscreen is non-negotiable. Of an evening, I tend to rotate between Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and La Prairie Platinum Rare Cellular Night Elixir, depending on what my skin needs.”

2. “Mascara is so personal, and when you find your go-to you tend to stick to it. My absolute favourite mascara is Diorshow Iconic Overcurl – it delivers long lashes in one quick swipe.”

3. “Guerlain recently launched L’Essentiel foundation, which has fast become my new favourite for its velvet finish.”

4. “I tend to wear lipstick in the evening when I’m going out. I’ll reach for Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in Fire, which is a super-bright tangerine hue.”

5. “I’m time-poor, so I diarise appointments with Belinda Jeffrey at La Boutique in Double Bay for cuts, colours, blow-dries and manicures. It’s the only way I manage to squeeze it all in.”

6. “As a beauty manager, I’m always seeing the latest and greatest beauty innovations – I swear by face rollers and facial massage for lymphatic drainage and to promote blood flow to the skin.”

7. “If my schedule permits, I also love to treat myself to a David Jones beauty service like a facial from Sisley or La Prairie. It always makes me feel rejuvenated and recharged.”

8. “A few years ago, a facialist told me I should always double-cleanse, so I’ve been doing it religiously since then. I have definitely noticed my skin is clearer, as remnants of the day’s make-up are completely removed.”

9. “Wellness and beauty from within is a big focus globally right now. I love to start my day with glass of water mixed with Glow Inner Beauty Powder by The Beauty Chef, or I make a smoothie using Super Elixir by WelleCo.”

10. “I try to devour as much beauty content as possible; Violet Grey is one of my go-to beauty websites.”

11. “If I’m feeling energised, I’ll book a class at Ariapilates [in Paddington, Sydney]. Even just a couple of classes per week helps me to switch off and reset.”
