BLOCK PARTY

Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out hit city streets for a New York City-style block party. Melbourne

-

It’s the fifth time Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out (VAEFNO) has taken over the streets of Melbourne’s CBD. In partnership with the City of Melbourne and Melbourne Fashion Week, the one- day shopping spectacular on Thursday, August 29 not only offered attendees a chance to enjoy festivities, from runway shows to retail offers and live music performances, but also be part of Vogue Australia’s 60th-birthday celebrations. The theme for VAEFNO 2019 was New York City-style block party, and with Little Bourke Street and surrounds transformed and the event bigger and better than ever, it was mission accomplished.

VOGUE VIP

With the launch of Vogue VIP, a subscriber-only program that rewards loyal readers, members enjoyed access to the Vogue VIP Members’ Lounge at VAEFNO, and received a Vogue x The Daily Edited tote bag on arrival, plus VAEFNO vouchers to be redeemed in store, making it simple to shop like a Vogue VIP.

AMERICAN EXPRESS

Who doesn’t want to go on a shopping spree and be rewarded for it? It was a win-win scenario for American Express Card Members at VAEFNO as they got $20 back when they

spent $50 on their American Express cards up to three times during the event. When it was time to take a break, the American Express Lounge pop-up was the perfect venue to relax and recharge with New York street-themed nibbles and a glass of Mumm champagne.

DAVID JONES

It wasn’t just the chance to shop the latest in fashion, accessories and beauty that awaited those who visited the David Jones Bourke Street Mall store, there was also a host of exclusive offers, styling demonstrations, complimentary beauty treatments, competitions and the inaugural David Jones American Express VIP Lounge, a stylish space to unwind.

R.M.WILLIAMS

The country came to town when the R.M.Williams travelling workshop, The Hut, opened its doors for VAEFNO. With a display of iconic signage, drovers’ accessories and leather tools, the pop-up was the place to browse the brand’s beautifully handcrafted leather goods – and make a purchase or two.

BASSIKE

The secret to being one of the best dressed at VAEFNO? It came down to whether you were wearing the official Vogue x Bassike limited- edition tee, which both marked the event and Vogue Australia’s 60th. For the seventh year in a row, Australian label Bassike was tapped to design it and the result was an organic cotton, crew-neck tee in fashion’s favourite colour, black, with a white Vogue logo.

Sydney

Everyone was invited to join Team Vogue for the 10th Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out in Sydney on Thursday, September 5. With the New York City-style block party theme reimagined for the Sydney CBD, the annual shopping extravaganza offered an array of free festivities, from fashion exclusives to beauty treats, competitions and more. The party started early with countless offers available in stores from 10am, featured performances by musicians Cxloe and Thandi Phoenix and guest DJs, and offered three luxe lounges to rest and recharge between shopping forays until the event wrapped at 10pm.

VOGUE VIP

The Vogue VIP Members’ Lounge was a mustvisit destination during the event – and Vogue subscribers had exclusive access. The perks were many with guests receiving a specially designed Vogue x The Daily Edited tote, valued at $59.95, along with VAEFNO vouchers to be used in stores for a VIP shopping experience. A Vogue DJ and dance crew were there to entertain while guests were served Woofys’s New York-inspired food, including pretzels and mini hotdogs, and frozen yoghurt, as they sipped on Seedlip non-alcoholic cocktails and Mo Sisters wine.

AMERICAN EXPRESS

American Express Card Members got the best of both worlds at VAEFNO – a special shopping offer and access to the luxe American Express Lounge in Pitt Street Mall. Relax and refuel was the mantra at the lounge with DJs providing entertainment and a range of treats on offer, from a complimentary glass of Mumm champagne to New York-style bagels.

DAVID JONES

Pop-up bars, guest DJs, a floral wall backdrop for selfies, and, of course, a stash of deals were in store at David Jones Elizabeth Street. As well, shoppers could try their luck with the David Jones gumball machine loaded with prizes, and visit the stylish David Jones American Express VIP Lounge.

R.M.WILLIAMS

The Hut, a R.M.Williams travelling workshop pop-up, was in Pitt Street Mall and those who dropped in had the chance to meet the team, find out more about the brand’s heritage and check out the exclusive offers on the iconic leather goods in the range.

GUCCI

To celebrate the launch of its first genderneutral fragrance, Mémoire d'Une Odeur, Gucci offered samples of the scent during the Sydney event. And for a stylish photo op, it was just a matter of slipping into the Gucci Mémoire photo booth in Pitt Street Mall.
