Here’s to 60
IN CELEBRATION OF Vogue Australia’s 60th anniversary, the National Portrait Gallery, with support from the Susan and Isaac Wakil Foundation, Moët & Chandon and Paspaley, staged a special exhibition, Women in Vogue: Celebrating 60 years in Australia. To mark the milestone, the retrospective traces iconic and archival moments in Vogue featuring historic covers fronted by Kylie Minogue, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Adut Akech and Margot Robbie, highlighting Vogue as a timeless identifier of brilliant women across the decades. To usher in the celebrations, Barbara Leser, wife of the late founder Bernie Leser, previous editors Nancy Pilcher and Juliet Ashworth, fashion designers and special guests (who stayed at the nearby Ovolo Nishi) to ring in the occasion, officially opened by the Hon. Julie Bishop. The exhibition is open to the public until November 24, 2019.
