JESSICA DOS REMEDIOS

Tasked with shooting ‘Good times roll’, from page 52, Sydney-based photographer Jessica dos Remedios says a last-minute change in the weather meant her original vision for the feature was turned on its head. “We wanted to shoot a lot more looks on the rocks with the blue sky, however, the morning of the shoot we woke up to alerts on our phones warning of severe weather. It was a reminder that it’s very important to be able to shift when need be to make things work,” says Remedios. “I love the image of Varsha in the pink Dior dress. In this case, the gale-force winds worked in our favour,” she shares of her favourite image from the story.

VAIBHAVI LATH

“I have shot for Vogue once before,” says Adelaide-based model Vaibhavi Lath, who featured in ‘Fresh start’, from page 116. “The experience with Vogue has been intense each time, as it is so special. I am still very fresh in the industry, so working with some of the best people really turned up the pressure, but also my creativity.” The beauty shoot took place in Sydney and Lath relished the experience. ”Vogue itself is so highly coveted; the whole environment really inspired me to give it my all,” she says. “I just love interacting with the whole creative team.”

GILLIAN CAMPBELL

“For me, it was important to capture Nora’s energy, humour, playfulness and beauty. She has a confidence and fearlessness paired with wit and humour that is infectious,” says Sydney-based make-up artist Gillian Campbell, who transformed actor Awkwafina – born Nora Lum – for the cover of this issue. “I also know she loves fresh skin and a good brow, both of which I align with strongly, so we included these ideas,” explains Campbell of a beauty look she describes as “playful, mystical, strong, fearless, youthful, energetic and free.” Citing Awkwafina’s cover video as her favourite moment from the shoot, Campbell admits: “I’ve not laughed that hard on set – ever.”
