HOLLY GIBSON
“This experience was particularly special to me, as I have never had the opportunity to shoot for print, let alone for Vogue Australia – which has been a lifelong dream,” says Sydney-based photographer Holly Gibson, who was tasked with tapping into the season’s bag trends for ‘Polite company’, from page 50. “Working within a domestic space, we wanted the images to be soft and warm, so shooting on film really complemented this,” she says of the inspiration behind the fashion feature, which Gibson cites as a major milestone in her career.
AMY CAMPBELL
“I’ve been fortunate to help share the stories of some incredible Indigenous Australians through my writing, but this was the first time I was able to fully immerse myself in an experience like this on Country,” says features writer Amy Campbell, who travelled to history-steeped Narooma on the New South Wales South Coast for an Indigenous wellness retreat, which she explores in ‘Nature knows best’, from page 152. “To be on Yuin land learning from its traditional custodians was a humbling and powerful experience I’ll never forget,” Campbell says. “I think we have a lot to learn from Indigenous people.”
GEORGE CORTINA
Stylist George Cortina was tasked with dressing Amanda Seyfried for the cover story, ‘This must be the place’, from page 98, shortly after the birth of the actor’s second child. Photographed in a Marcel Breuer house in Upstate New York, Cortina says the setting was exactly what the team wanted. “It had a sense of space and a very nice modernist vibe,” he says, adding: “I think Amanda’s never been photographed like this before, and she really loved the way she looked.”
