All for one
The bodysuit has been gaining popularity due to its balance of pure comfort and sleek style.
As we recover from the pandemic, there’s stability in the comfort clothes we knew, but a yearning for a wardrobe awakening. The bodysuit, (aka unitard or catsuit), is the unlikely hero piece that can nimbly combine both: a second-skin sensuality with handsfree comfort. Its svelte lines call upon Jerry Hall’s pulse-raising sheer lace onesie at Studio 54, and the legendary catsuits of supernova Serena Williams. They’re also a new essential for New Zealand stylist and Paris Georgia co-founder, Paris Mitchell Temple, who is expecting her first child. “With my body growing and changing during pregnancy, I’ve continued to feel comfortable in bodysuits,” she says. “I’ve loved watching my belly grow and the suit grows with it.” Here she wears it her way.
Meeting friends
“When heading out during the day, I’d choose to keep this look minimal. I’ve paired this Skims toffee-coloured bodysuit with a Paris Georgia skirt. I wore this to my baby shower. I love the way this look exposes my bump. I’d recommend pairing with sandals or wedges and simple jewellery.”
Dinner date
“When heading out at night, it’s nice to dress up a little and play with a bit of colour. I love seeing a pregnant woman accentuate her bump, all while looking and feeling secure and comfortable. I love this look for a dinner party layered with a coat and worn with heels or in my case, tonal high boots.”
Off-duty
“A cashmere bodysuit in winter is a beautiful item to add to your wardrobe – it has such wearability and a cosy, luxurious feel. I’m championing my biscuit cashmere Paris Georgia bodysuit when lounging around. It can be paired with trackpants or, in my case, probably by itself or with slippers.”
