THE LOOK: Graphic liner

THE LOWDOWN: There are no prizes for guessing why the beauty focus of the spring/summer runways was on eyes. As masks became de rigueur, make-up artists set their sights on eyelids, with looks running the gamut from painterly swatches to graphic lines that could be easily mimicked at home. At Dior, make-up artist Peter Phillips followed the natural shape of models’ eyes by circling the water and lash line with the darkest shade in his kit, which felt reminiscent of early 90s runways. It was a similar story at Giambattista Valli, where liner looked more like tar drawn in a subtle almond shape. Elsewhere at Valentino and Salvatore Ferragamo, the wing prevailed as make-up artists played with angles to deliver two new takes on the classic style. Collectively however, they had one thing in common: a return to experimentation with the products you probably already have in your beauty bag.
