VOGUE AUSTRALIA: How would you describe the theme of your wedding day? “Classic and timeless with the feel of old romance.”

VA: Styling details you would like to share? “Our stationer created beautiful white ribbon place cards, which were tied around the guests’ wine glasses. This matched our lovely silk seating chart. What was so brilliant was that our guests tied them around bags or in their hair to take them home.”

VA: Why did you pick your venue? “We were drawn to venues that had an alfresco and Tuscan feel and wanted it to be out of town and at a winery. We fell in love with Centennial Vineyards’s sandstone courtyard and beautiful gardens. Being an April wedding, we knew the colours would be striking at that time of year, and Bowral is a lovely spot for a weekend away, which we hoped our guests would be able to enjoy. We also loved that our ceremony and reception could be held at the same place.”

VA: Tell us about your wedding attire. “My dress was by Ines Di Santo and I adored it. It pulled together the timelessness of the day with its classic cut – but the back of the dress was unlike anything I had seen before, which made it feel unique and special. I was convinced that I wouldn’t have any lace in my look, but the subtle lace detail on the side ended up being my favourite part.”

VA: What about accessories? “I wore fingerless gloves for the reception to create a second look. These were made using the lace from my mum’s 1990 wedding dress. I am a shoe girl at heart, so my patent Valentino heels brought the look together. I kept my jewellery simple but sentimental – I wore my great grandmother’s pearl earrings and my ‘something blue’ was a ring I had reset using a sapphire from my maternal grandmother.”

VA: Describe your hair and make-up. “I knew I wanted to wear my hair up to show off the strapless neckline of my dress. I also wanted to look and feel like myself, so I went for a natural and bronzed make-up look for myself and my bridesmaids.”
