Aje’s Edwina Robinson shares memories of her honeymoon spent in Italy and France.

It was past holidays that led to newlyweds Edwina Robinson and Felix Forest to dedicate their honeymoon to Italy – by way of France, Forest’s home country. “It was four weeks, but still wasn’t long enough,” says Robinson, who, along with Adrian Norris, is creative director of the fashion label Aje, which is stocked in Myer and its own stores. Following their wedding at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the couple travelled across Saint-Paul de Vence, Paris, Sicily, Rome, Tuscany and Ravello. What was the highlight of your honeymoon? Edwina Robinson: “There were two. La Colombe d’Or – steeped in such extraordinary art history and beautiful romantic surrounds, it was the perfect place to relax and be inspired. Also Villa Scarpariello, an extraordinary old fortress on the Amalfi coast.” What did you pack? ER: “Too much! For a summer holiday you only need a few favourite summertime things. To travel light is true luxury.” What was the biggest surprise? ER: “Our honeymoon was full of amazing surprises, because sometimes it’s best not to know too much so the expectation does not overwhelm the reality.” What advice would you give on planning a honeymoon? ER: “Keep it simple. Pick one or two extraordinary places that you would like to visit that allow for relaxation as well.” What do you wish you’d known before your honeymoon? ER: “To allow time for reflection. The moments pass by so quickly; you want to make sure to savour and reflect upon everything.”
