The sought-after invitation requested ‘dancing shoes’, and so everyone brought their D-game to this smart party for Christian Louboutin, co-hosted by Alison Veness. Monsieur Louboutin loves to dance, so dance he did – all night long – to celebrate his visit to Sydney and the end of MBFWA. DJ Niki Dé Saint’s playlist pumped guests into the early hours of the morning, with everyone letting loose after a long fashion week. The Queen Victoria Building heritage space was bathed in soft-focus red light, and lush red velvet couches and red carpet made for a cocooned glamour. Guests, who wore their red-soled Christian Louboutins with pride, included the divine Kelly Rowland, with her The Voice protégé Bella Paige. She didn’t miss a beat as Say My Name blasted in tribute to her Destiny’s Child years. Lucy Hinckfuss, designer of Ten Pieces, arrived with fellow Bondi designer Lucy Folk, while Double Rainbouu’s Mikey Nolan rocked out with Holiday’s Emma Mulholland. Blainey North, Neale Whitaker and Jason Minty added the heavyweight design presence. Christopher Esber arrived still glowing from the reviews of his beautiful resort ’19 show. Model Victoria Lee charmed everyone, as she does, and Jarrod Scott just lounged and looked as good as ever. Monsieur Louboutin graciously fielded an endless stream of selfie requests from the many guests, while the delicious cocktails were fuelled by Belvedere, and the champagne flowed. It was one of those fashion nights to remember, and we all had a dance-athon workout. Bring back disco.
