VOGUE SOIRÉE
When Elsa Pataky was invited to spend Mother’s Day as a special guest of Vogue Australia at the opening of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in Sydney in May, she enlisted the help of some fabulous friends. Pataky, an actress and wife of Chris Hemsworth, brought along her Byron Bay besties Lucy Damon (wife of Matt Damon), Natasha Emery (who runs Emery surfboards with her husband), April Munro (the wife of pro surfer Luke Munro), Jeanne Maxwell and Silvia Serra (Pataky’s sister-in-law), who all left their kids in the care of their husbands to have a mothers’ night out. The evening began with a photo shoot with Vogue at the Ovolo at Woolloomooloo, then the group was chauffeured in a Mercedes-Benz to the Camilla and Marc show, sitting front row alongside Vogue editor-inchief Edwina McCann and meeting the designers backstage. Asked which was her favourite piece in the collection, Pataky – dressed in Camilla and Marc resort ’19 – said she “really loved the pants that opened at the front or had a side split, as it felt there was a youthful edge to otherwise beautifully tailored pants. The green Lurex dress with oversized sleeves created a really striking silhouette, too. ” “Having my girlfriends there made it all the more special. To spend Mother’s Day together in Sydney, staying at a beautiful hotel, drinking champagne and attending a spectacular fashion event with the Vogue team was really cool. When my Camilla and Marc dress arrived with my Fendi bag and shoes, I was so excited – we all had the best time!”
