A misguided childhood dream of being an NBA player –“I’m short and skinny!” – led Glenane to drama school (his mother tricked him into thinking it would help with public speaking). It was the right move: he has since carved an impressive CV with roles including Picnic at Hanging Rock, Mr In-between and was cast as the last Australian on Earth in the futuristic thriller Snowpiercer.
“Now is an amazing time not only because there are so many platforms you can channel yourself into, but also because you can create your own content, jump on board a big TV series, and the diversity is amazing over here (in LA). I went into an audition the other day where there was an African-American guy and a Latino guy, all of us going for the same role. It ‘s so great that that’s how the audition process happens now, because the more cultures you mix in the more interesting our stories.”
