Milan, Italy
This contemporary, graphic bathroom by ‘starchitect’ Patricia Urquiola is located inside Milan’s newest designer boutique accommodation, Room Mate Hotel Guilia. Housed within a 19th- century building in the heart of the city, the interior design and colour-palette of the 85-room hotel references the history and artists of its location. The geometric patterns, strong black accents and 1950s-style checks featured throughout the hotel — and within its bathrooms — are a nod to Milan’s cultural history in the graphic arts. The vintage-themed design details aim to imbue the space with a feeling of familiarity and a home-away-from-home atmosphere. hotel-giulia.it
