Deft at exhibiting how a multitude of decorations can drastically alter a room, Palmer counsels readers looking for specifics: create a focal point, select a palette, dress a bed, choose a floor, a rug. Palmer writes warmly with a hatful of tricks. On a tour of his own projects, he accentuates features, concentrates on details and finds beauty. Those who haven’t seen him on TV show The Block will be charmed by his writing.
