Paris, France
This newly renovated family apartment is located in a 1930s building bordering the Paris neighbourhood of Saint Germain. French and Italian design history were used as a guide when choosing much of the furniture, and the custom- designed furnishings were all made in Italy and constructed on site in two weeks to meet the project’s short deadlines. One of the areas that the client wanted to rethink was the kitchen and it has a combination of a custom-made kitchen table and benchtops with modern, sleek designer items from &tradition and Tom Dixon. The design reconnects the space with the garden below. Overall, the apartment ends up being an architectural space speaking a cutting- edge language, which highlights rather than conceals the original character of the property.
