Berlin, Germany
This Berlin apartment has an eclectic collection of furniture styles yet it still manages to be unified. The kitchen is a reflection of this, as its designer Gisbert Pöppler explains. “I brought together things that may not match perfectly but together they form a curious harmony,” says Pöppler. “It is a collection of things I have a personal connection with, somehow creating a mosaic of my past. Nevertheless, this kitchen is constantly developing; it is a living puzzle, a work in progress.” Antique items, such as a farmhouse wardrobe refashioned into a china cabinet, contrast with modern appliances and brass fixtures. The robin’s egg blue ceiling and green marble benchtops warm up the stark white walls.
