THE COLLABORATORS: Ben Gorham and Luca Nichetto

Ben Gorham and Luca Nichetto met in Stockholm, where they are both based. Swedish-born Gorham is the founder of boutique fragrance brand Byredo, while Venetian Nichetto is a multi-disciplinary designer of furniture and lighting. Decode/Recode was the name of their collaboration for Venetian glassmakers Salviati. Comprising 53 unique illuminated totems made from randomly stacked Murano glass (each totem representing a different race and thus, collectively, a global family), it was one of Milan Design Week’s visual standouts.
