THE EXPERIENCE: Airbnb
Airbnb presented one of Milan Design Week’s most intriguing installations. Passeggiata (inspired by memories of travel, and curated by Cabana magazine founder Martina Mondadori Sartogo) comprised both an exhibition at the 15th-century Casa degli Atellani — once a palace, now a private home — and interactive experiences with such luminaries as British interior designer Ashley Hicks, Design Miami chief creative officer Rodman Primack and British creative studio Campbell-Rey. On display at Casa degli Atellani were Hicks’s striking hand-sculpted totems and bronze-and-ceramic sculptures by Halima Cassell.
