Australian designer and Lexus Australia ambassador Henry Wilson showed a collection of what he modestly describes as “useful objects” at Aesop’s Brera store. Wilson has designed the interiors of two of Aesop’s Australian stores (Crows Nest and Balmain, NSW), so the Piazza del Carmine store — with an interior by Vincenzo De Cotiis — was the perfect backdrop for Cast Impressions, Wilson’s range of sand-cast bronze Surface Sconce lights, table and desktop accessories, all manufactured in Sydney. “I’m interested in the awkward beauty that comes from something made by hand,” he says.
