THE LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2017 WINNER: Hiroto Yoshizoe
Tokyo-based Hiroto Yoshizoe is a graduate of Musashino Art University. Inspired by the traditional Japanese architectural practice of shoji (opaque, sliding screens that allow light in to transform an interior), his winning Pixel design uses a configuration of visors to create a range of light and shadow effects. In Yoshizoe’s words: “a structure to experience the existence of light yet shadow... It’s a device for dividing, transforming and connecting at the same time.”
