REVIEW: SHOW ME THE MOVIE

Wangaratta Chronicle - North East Regional Extra - - Front Page - with KYLIE WILSON

SHOW: Show Me The Movie CHANNEL: WIN Network TIME: Thurs, 7.30pm

ROVE McManus is fast becoming Australian television’s go-to guy when it comes to pop culture fun.

He has been lending a voice to Australian Doctor Who fans in recent years at the helm of the highly enjoyable Whovians on the ABC, and is now heading up the movie themed trivia show, Show Me The Movie!

Show Me The Movie! features two competing teams captained by acclaimed actor Jane Harber and comedy star Joel Creasey.

The show celebrates the good, the bad and the ugly of the big screen, and the stars, Alist gossip, iconic movie dialogue and classic cinematic moments all get a comedy makeover.

Rove continues to be a reliably personable hosting presence in this show, which mixes trivia and comedy much like the music show Spicks and Specks did in the past.

As with most comedy quiz shows, who wins and who loses tends to be fairly irrelevant, as much of the fun to be had is in trying to guess the answers yourself and enjoying the banter along the way.

And while the format is nothing new, it is a serviceable dose of midweek brain candy that the family can enjoy.

RETURN TO OUR SCREENS: Rove McManus in Show Me The Movie.
