Pop-up library feature at festivities
BOOKMARK the dates of May 21 to 27 in the diary when libraries across Australia will come together to celebrate 2018 Library and Information Week.
A pop-up library, National Storytime and a chance to win a book themed hamper will all feature as part of Wangaratta Library’s festivities.
Community members will receive a coffee voucher from Hahne’s Kitchen when they visit the pop-up library running out of the kiosk on Reid Street on Tuesday, May 22 from 10am to 1pm.
Hickory Dickory Dash will feature as this year’s book for National Simultaneous Storytime, when children around Australia gather at libraries to read through the story at 11am on Wednesday, May 23.
Raise a cup against cancer on Thursday, May 24 at 10.30am as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, and stick around for an introduction to the “Be Connected Program” at 11am where you will learn the essential tech skills of living in a digital age.
Anyone who borrows a book throughout the week and provides a receipt, or enters the competition on Facebook will also be in the running to win a ‘book’ themed hamper.
