Four generations celebrated a glorious day
FOUR generations of the one family celebrated Mother’s Day last week.
Jean Drevor was born December 22, 1925 in Corryong and moved to Mitta Mitta in 1932 where she went to school before moving to Wangaratta in 1937 when she was 13.
She met Harry May in Wangaratta and got married at the Methodist Church in 1946.
On November 28, 1950 Jean gave birth to a daughter Jeanette Esta May at Wangaratta Base Hospital and nine years later a son Harry Stewart May was born.
Jeanette grew up in Wangaratta and went to Wangaratta South Primary School and Wangaratta High School.
She met Robert Dorsett (Bob) in 1964 and the couple were married in 1966 at Wangaratta Catholic Church.
On May 3, 1968 Jeanette gave birth to a daughter Cheryle Anne followed a year later by the birth of another daughter Dianne.
Cheryle and Dianne did a lot of their growing up in Albion Park NSW where they went to primary school and half of their secondary school education.
Jeanette and Bob moved around quite a bit over the years for work, finally set- tling in Lavington.
In 1984 they moved back to Wangaratta and in 1986 Cheryle met Dwayne Brambley.
They were married in 1990 at the Wangaratta Catholic Church and on July 29, 1993 Cheryle gave birth to a son Daryl James Brambley, followed two years later by their daughter Vanessa Anne Brambley.
Daryl and Vanessa grew up in Wangaratta attending Wangaratta West Primary School and Wangaratta High School.
All the family members continue to live in Wangaratta, except for Jeanette who resides in Lavington.
MUM’S THE WORD: Great grandmother Jean Drevor, her daughter Jeanette Dorsett, Jeanette’s daughter Cheryle Brambley and Cheryle’s daughter Vanessa Brambley.
