Dry conditions are continuing to affect local cattle markets
ALTHOUGH last Friday mornings store cattle sale yarding at Wangaratta drew 800 head, it was showing signs of the extended dry conditions.
“Better cattle met strong demand and sold accordingly for about $3 per kilogram, but the plainer secondary cattle met limited demand,” said Corcoran Parker livestock agent Kevin Sanderson.
“Local producers are seeing very dry conditions which will affect future prices everywhere.
“Good cattle will continue to sell well to strong enquiry but plain cattle will be met with limited demand and people will struggle to feed them.”
