The night has been organised by Dameon from Intermezzo Café and Ben Watts from employment agency Sarrina Russo.
Dameon has known Luke since 2016 when Dameon returned to Wangaratta to live and work.
“I met Luke through work, while he was with The Personnel Group and I was looking for employees for my business (Intermezzo Café),” Dameon said.
“I still work closely with Luke now in his new role with 3NE/ Edge FM.
“I remember a few days after the 2017 event seeing Luke for work but not knowing it was him and his family who were also affected by the tragedy.
“Ever since that day, I had in the back of my mind I needed to do something to help.
“When we gradually learned about the impact this event had on Luke and his family, Ben and I decided to do anything we could to help.
“We started out hoping to raise $500 to send the family on a holiday together, but after a committee formed and some good ideas were raised we have set the bar higher.
“We thought why not do something different like a night full of entertainment to support a local family which led to the Casino Night at WPAC next Friday.”
He said the night would not only be full of entertainment it will also help this local family get back on their feet after such tragic circumstances.
“It’s an event organised by locals for locals who really need the support of their friends and neighbours,” Dameon said.
