Boost your digital skills
PANGERANG Community House is set to help local residents improve their digital skills through international campaign Get Online Week.
The event, taking place at both the Wangaratta Farmers Market tomorrow, and on Wednesday from 10am to 3pm at Pangerang Community House, gives everyone the chance to make the most of the internet, no matter how confident they are online.
Get Online Week (October 15 to 21) will see hundreds of community events take place across the country.
The campaign aims to support the two and a half million Australians who are not online.
Tennille Hall, Pangerang Community House executive officer, said that more people than you probably think still don’t use the internet at all, and with more and more companies directing people to online services, including government sites such as MyGov, it can be incredibly daunting and frustrating for people.
“We are here to help,” she said.
“Getting the most out of the internet doesn’t have to be scary.
“Doing just one new thing online is all you need to do to get started - come along to our event and we can help you do just that.
“We’ll be holding our Get Online Week events at the Wangaratta Farmers market tomorrow in the grounds of Holy Trinity Cathedral.
“We will also have another open day at Pangerang Community House on Wednesday from 10am to 3pm for anyone who would like to drop in.
“There’ll be lots of friendly support for anyone who wants to start doing a bit more online - and it’s absolutely free.”
