Po­lice in­ves­ti­gate cause of crash

WAN­GARATTA po­lice are still in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cause of a sin­gle ve­hi­cle crash at Bun­da­long south on Mon­day, in which the sole oc­cu­pant sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries.

Lead­ing Se­nior Con­sta­ble Colin Boyle of Wan­garatta High­way Pa­trol said a Mul­wala man in his 70s was driv­ing south on Yar­ra­wonga Road when his ve­hi­cle left the road, rolled and crashed into trees, around 8am.

“All emer­gency ser­vices at­tended and it took around 45 min­utes for the man to be ex­tracted from the ve­hi­cle,” he said.

“He was trans­ported to North­east Health Wan­garatta, hav­ing sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries to his ribs and back.”

Ld Sen Const Boyle said po­lice do not be­lieve any other ve­hi­cles were in­volved.
