Family cheer with Christmas lights ready to shine
YOU certainly know its Christmas when local houses and businesses begin to light up at night for the festive season.
There are striking Christmas trees, swathes of colourful lights, blow up Santas, metres of tinsel and stars galore.
The Bridge family of Moran Court vowed to make this Christmas bigger and better than last year and have gone all out to put on a spectacular show.
“We’re doing it for the kids,” Kristy Bridge.
“WE did it last year and received letters afterwards from the neighbourhood kids saying thank you,” she said.
“So we promised them we’d go bigger this year.”
Their plans include a 4m Santa Claus, a big Grinch and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse in ad- dition to miles of Christmas lights.
The home will definitely be on the list for Patti Stafford and Business Wangaratta for their annual Christmas Light Tour.
The tour picks up residents from the local aged care facilities including Illoura Nursing Home, Homestead Life, Elderly Citizens, St John’s Terrace, St Catherine’s Hostel, St John’s Village and Rangeview Nursing Home.
The residents are picked up, shown the lights, enjoy a meal at McDonald’s and are then dropped back to their door.
The first trip this Christmas will take place on December 6 while the Bridge family have scheduled to turn on their spectacular light show tomorrow night.
Other displays can be found on Greta Road, Tavern Terrace, Inchbold Street, Collyn-Dale Drive, Thompson Street and Cribbes Road.
