AFL 9s hits Norm Minns for summer

Wangaratta Chronicle - - Sport -

IT might only be December but competitive football returns to Wangaratta later this month with the popular AFL 9s competition being held.

Run by AFL North East Border, the modified version of the game makes this competition available to all age groups and ability.

In the past, several local clubs have used the competition as a great way to finish off pre-season training before Christmas while local businesses have also used it as a team building exercise.

AFL 9s is the AFL’s official social version of the game. It’s a fast, fun, freeflowing game that involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field.

Best of all, it’s ‘ touch football’ with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for everyone.

The competition will be held on Monday, December 17 from 6pm at the Norm Minns Oval – book your teams by emailing zac.guil[email protected] afl.com.au or call 0424 918 912.
