Summer heat is really on with potentially hottest day
WANGARATTA is in the middle of a seven day mini-heatwave with a week of 30-plus temperatures forecast.
Today is predicted to nudge the 40 degree mark in Wangaratta and, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, it will be the hottest day this year since February when it reached 38.6 degrees.
The bureau forecasts a top temperature of 38 today, the same tomorrow, 34 degrees Sunday, 31 Monday, 33 Tuesday and 34 Wednesday.
There will only be marginal relief at night over the weekend with forecast minimums ranging from 17 to 19 degrees.
