Sum­mer heat is re­ally on with po­ten­tially hottest day

WAN­GARATTA is in the mid­dle of a seven day mini-heat­wave with a week of 30-plus tem­per­a­tures fore­cast.

To­day is pre­dicted to nudge the 40 de­gree mark in Wan­garatta and, ac­cord­ing to the Bureau of Me­te­o­rol­ogy, it will be the hottest day this year since Fe­bru­ary when it reached 38.6 de­grees.

The bureau fore­casts a top tem­per­a­ture of 38 to­day, the same to­mor­row, 34 de­grees Sun­day, 31 Mon­day, 33 Tues­day and 34 Wed­nes­day.

There will only be marginal re­lief at night over the week­end with fore­cast min­i­mums rang­ing from 17 to 19 de­grees.
