New St John’s owner here in New Year
RESPECT Aged Care managing director Jason Binder will visit Wangaratta early in the New Year, as the aged care provider prepares to move into its new acquisition, St John’s Village.
The sale of the Williams Road residential aged care home and retirement living units, which was established and has been operated by the Anglican Diocese of Wangaratta for the past 50 years, was announced on Tuesday.
Respect Aged Care, a not-for-profit organisation which operates nine homes in Tasmania and regional Victoria, including centres in Swan Hill, St Arnaud and Echuca, takes ownership of St John’s on January 14.
The sale encompasses the 146 bed residential care home, 30 self-care units, and 153 units in The Terrace, and follows a lengthy process to find a new owner, which began about two years ago.
Mr Binder said Respect Aged Care was thrilled to join the Wangaratta community.
“My team and I are looking forward to building on the great work of the diocese and the community, to make St John’s Village an even better place to live and work,” he said.
