Wangaratta Chronicle - - News -

HEATWAVE conditions with temperatures into the early 40 degrees have forced V/Line to replace some of its scheduled daily North East train services with buses.

V/Line yesterday replaced its 12.05pm and 6.02pm Southern Cross to Albury train services, and its 12.45pm and 5.20pm Albury to Southern Cross train services with coaches.

It is doing the same today, and at the time of going to press there was a chance some weekend train services could be replaced with coaches.

The Australian Rail Track Corporation is monitoring the North East track on these days of extreme temperatures and will impose speed restrictions on sections if and when needed.
