Tumbleweed to headline Australia Day music festival at Beechworth
BACK for its sixth year of bringing terrific tunes to a historic town, the Beechworth Music Festival is said to be brighter and better than ever.
With globally recognised band Tumbleweed headlining the event, organiser Lex Fletcher is excited for another successful year.
“We’ve had some great headliners in the past, but Tumbleweed have just really jumped on board with publicising the event and have made their own poster to share over their social media,” he said.
“This year we’ve done a lot more infrastructure on the site, with great visual elements and artwork but as the site already works really well with the food stalls and bar, we didn’t need to change much.
“A festival like this gives people in the area a chance to see music they wouldn’t normally get to experience and it also gives local bands a big foot up in the industry.
“Each year it brings more visitors and it’s become a nice family friendly event.
“The biggest things people like most about the festival is its safe, has a friendly vibe, it’s easy to get around and it’s like a small community who return every year.”
The festival begins on Friday, January 25 at 4pm with free camping that night for the last day of the festival on Saturday, January 26.
There are plenty of toilets and facilities on site, and Lex said camping makes for a better experience of the event.
